Ararat is a major regional service centre in Victoria’s mid-west. Tucked into the foothills of the ancient Grampians ranges, the city is characterised by huge horizons, spectacular mountainscapes and a vibrant sense of community.
Ararat lies at an important junction of several highways about 198 kilometres north west of Melbourne.
Duplication of the Western highway between Ballarat and Stawell will reduce travel time and improve road safety. To date, 34 kilometres of highway has been upgraded and duplicated with works expected to near completion in 2016.
Trains run directly to Ararat from Southern Cross Station daily with coach connections to Halls Gap, Hamilton, Warrnambool and Horsham.
Centrally located to the Grampians National Park, the Goldfields, the South Coast and to Metropolitan Melbourne, the Ararat Region is not far from anywhere!
