Willaura Harvest Cut Out
5 February 2016
06:00pm to 10:00pm
The Harvest Cutout is held at the Willaura Recreation Reserve from 6pm till 11pm on the first Friday in February.
It is a coming together of the community to celebrate the end of Harvest. The free family night includes a BBQ meal, entertainment, and health promotion by East Grampians Health Service (EGHS). The night is organised by members of the Willaura & District Community Development Group, with
assistance from Willaura/Lake Bolac Community Bank Branch, Ararat Rural City Council, the Willaura Kindergarten Parents Committee and EGHS.
The night aims to:
1. Improve the overall health and wellbeing of the community.
2. Provide for early intervention and health promotion by East Grampians Health Service.
3. Revive and revitalise a tradition that was once part of the community.
It is a night where everyone can relax and chat with friends, get to know others, listen to the music, dance, learn about their health in a friendly setting, or simply sit back and take it all in.
For farmers in particular, whose harvest roles keep them away long hours from family and friends, it is an opportunity to catch up with news, compare harvest experiences and unwind after a stressful few months. For partners too, it is an opportunity to attend a family event where children were happy, the catering is taken care of and they too can relax.
