One Act Play Entry
2016 ONE ACT PLAY ENTRIES
Entries are now invited for the 2016 Ararat One Act Play Festival.
THE 2016 ARARAT ONE ACT PLAY FESTIVAL WILL BE HELD ON THE WEEKEND OF AUGUST 6th & 7th, 2016.

NOTE: THIS YEARS ENTRIES CLOSE FRIDAY JUNE 24th 2016. ENTRY FEE IS $55 PER PLAY
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
Entries will be limited to Amateur Theatre Groups. Groups may enter more than one play.
Entry fee must be received by organizers before entry is acknowledged.
If too many entries are received, the decision on who performs rests solely with the Festival Manager & Festival Coordinator, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Plays require a minimum number of two performers. Monologues will not be considered.
Plays will not run less than twenty minutes or more than fifty minutes. Plays may be disadvantaged if they extend beyond these boundaries.
Two scripts are to be sent with entry form – one for the Adjudicator and one for the Festival Manager.
Cast lists, synopsis of play and short history of the group are required for inclusion in the program.
The Adjudicator’s decision is final.
Royalties, where necessary, should be paid by the group before the performance date.
The expressed preferred appearance day will be respected where possible, but we reserve the right to allocate dates and times as demanded by the needs of the program.
Groups must provide their own stage manager. The festival stage manager will be available for help and advice wherever necessary.
Ample opportunity will be given to competing groups to rehearse prior to performance. No rehearsals will be allowed on stage.
In house audio equipment is available, but will require a member of the group to operate the sound equipment or call cues.
General stage lighting is provided.
Lighting states can be altered during the performance. This will require a member of the performing group to operate the lighting console or call cues.
Lighting and sound is operated from side stage.
All electrical appliances & leads (including tape/CD players) MUST have a current appliance test tag attached.
If your play requires the use of a gun of any description (including imitation), the name of the responsible person must be given when entry is submitted. Copies of any legal forms must be attached. Prior notice in writing MUST be provided if you intend to use blank cartridges.
